AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Genesis Homes, a division of Champion Enterprises, Inc. CHB and the only nationwide builder of modular homes, is celebrating today with the news that it has been nationally recognized for model home design. The National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), along with its Building Systems Council and Building Systems magazine, announced this week that Genesis took first prize in the 2003 Excellence in Model Homes contest. The announcement that Genesis' innovative Bainbridge model is the celebrated home in the "Above 2200 Sq./Ft. Modular" category was made at the 2003 Showcase Convention in Jacksonville, FL.
"We are thrilled to be recognized with this award, but we are not surprised," said Paul Jarvis, VP Sales & Marketing for Genesis. "Design excellence is a Genesis Homes priority."
The "Bainbridge" was designed by Genesis' VP of Corporate Design, Roberto Kritzer, winner of numerous awards for his designs at Genesis. The 2,595 square foot home is constructed off-site, for maximum efficiency and quality, and is designed for the baby boomer trade-up and scale-down homebuyers' markets. Attentive to the group's ordinary and extraordinary lifestyle needs, the Bainbridge features a flexible floor plan capable of adapting to the needs of empty nesters, a traditional family or even an extended family, such as accommodating the homeowners' aging parents. Aesthetically dramatic, the home boasts nine-foot ceilings -- except in the great room, where a 15-foot ceiling includes the architectural interest of multiple cross beams.
"Our goal with every single Genesis home is to provide the highest quality and performance available," said Jarvis. "This means we put our energies into design excellence, construction efficiency and quality control."
Genesis sells its homes through builders and developers looking to benefit from the advantages of Genesis' off-site construction process. These advantages include manufacturing efficiencies that reduce costs associated with materials, labor and overhead, a compressed cycle time and quality materials and workmanship. With these advantages over onsite construction, builders and developers working with Genesis are able to build better homes, faster, and with increased profits.
Homeowners benefit from the Genesis process as well. Their homes are generally ready for occupancy within 90 days, are structurally superior to site-built homes and often cost significantly less than site-built homes.
The 2003 Excellence in Model Homes Contest, held annually, is sponsored by Building Systems magazine and the Building Systems Council of the NAHB.
