Genesis Homes debuts as a "new" modular builder with years of building experience

Champion Enterprises introduces new brand to serve builders and developers nationwide with quality custom modular homes

Auburn Hills, MI, November 13, 2000 - Genesis Homes, a new brand of Champion Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: CHB), the world's largest homebuilder, made its debut last Friday as a new custom modular homebuilder serving builders and developers nationwide.

On Friday, one of the new Genesis homes, located in Lake City, Florida, was opened for tours to local builders and real estate developers, as well as state and local government officials. The model home, the Marietta, is a 2,291 square foot, 1-1/2 story home --- the same model that will be featured in the National Association of Home Builders' International Builders' Show in Atlanta in February 2001.

Although new to the modular business, Genesis Homes is poised to quickly become a dominant player in the market, having 12 homebuilding facilities strategically selected to cover every U.S. market, the impressive purchasing power of Champion Enterprises, and a top-tier management team with years of building experience.

"When Genesis Homes builds, installs and finishes homes for its customers, it does so with the authority of more than 50 years in the homebuilding business, the quality that is inherent in its brand and an accountability that builders/developers can bet their reputations on," says Genesis President, Mick Barker.

Genesis provides a solution to conventional builders/developers' toughest challenges: labor, profits, and consumer demands. Working with Genesis reduces the concern of finding available and reliable labor, maximizes the builder's potential for profits, and offers virtually limitless design options and better control over the construction process.

In addition, Genesis is able to offer builders and developers a single point of contact at its manufacturing facilities and superior customer service during the construction process and after installation.

"From the onset, we are proving that off-site construction offers important benefits to today's builders and developers," says Barker. "Genesis is already producing for developments in Colorado and Florida. We'll expect even more rapid growth after the homes are in, demonstrating just what Genesis can do for its customers.

"Because all Genesis homes are built to satisfy the most discriminating buyer, I can say confidently that we are offering builders the best value and the best vendor partnership they can find in today's housing market," says Barker.

Genesis Homes are available throughout the U.S.; regional contacts can be found by calling (877) 523-2181.
